Since Opening in 2010, The Believe In Tomorrow Children’s House at Pinnacle Falls Serves as a Place of Respite for Hundreds of Children Battling Cancer

They come from Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, and other major pediatric hospitals that serve U.S. Military families. In their effort to get away from the stress of medical treatments, they often discover so much more…. in a tranquil mountain respite house that sits outside of Hendersonville North Carolina.

Since 2010, the Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation, headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, has been providing active duty military families who have critically ill children with the opportunity to stay in a beautiful mountain home within a gated community in the Blue Ridge mountains of Western North Carolina. The Pinnacle Falls community offers families an abundance of natural beauty, spectacular waterfalls and ADA accessible hiking trails, swimming and the opportunity to embrace the natural flow of normal family life.

“Hundreds of critically ill children and their families have stayed here over the past eight years, and this house has become a very important part of Believe In Tomorrow’s growing network of pediatric respite and hospital facilities,” said Brian Morrison, the founder and CEO of Believe In Tomorrow. “The hospitality of Pinnacle Falls residents and the surrounding community of Hendersonville has been heartwarming. It is southern hospitality at its best,” added Morrison.

Families can apply to the Believe In Tomorrow Foundation Respite Housing Program through their hospital’s pediatric oncology department. Eligible children, their parents and siblings, are encouraged to utilize Believe In Tomorrow programs throughout the child’s medical oncology treatment process. Believe In Tomorrow’s respite housing services are carefully designed to renew the spirit and reenergize each individual during what is always one of the most difficult challenges a family will ever experience.
