Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation Mourns Passing of Original Board Member Art Donovan
(August 6, 2013) – The Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation mourns the passing of one of its founding Board of Director Members, Art Donovan. Art was a Board Member for 31 years, and he significantly contributed to the Foundation’s establishment. Art’s legendary status in Maryland as a Hall of Fame former Baltimore Colts player helped the Foundation establish itself in the early years of its growth. For many years, Art traveled with Believe In Tomorrow founder, Brian Morrison, throughout the state to help spread the word about the Foundation’s mission to support critically ill children.
“Art was a major factor in our early success, and he remained a very active participant, donor, and Board Member over the past 31 years,” said Morrison. “He was an iconic hero throughout Maryland and the United States, and his support was a major catalyst for our eventual national growth.”
The Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation is a national leader in pediatric hospital and respite housing services. Believe In Tomorrow has provided over 600,000 individual overnight accommodations to families with critically ill children, from every state in the U.S. and 76 countries worldwide. Believe In Tomorrow is also a leader in support services to U.S. military critical care pediatrics.
Last year, Art was recognized as a special honoree at Believe In Tomorrow’s 30th Anniversary Benefit & Auction. Art regularly and generously supported Believe In Tomorrow.
Everyone at Believe In Tomorrow extends their sympathies, thoughts and prayers to the Donovan family. The Donovan family has asked that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Believe In Tomorrow or Doctors Without Borders.
