Baltimore, MD……The Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation is hosting its 21st annual Port to Fort 6K, to raise funds for critically ill children. Believe In Tomorrow’s renowned Children’s House at Johns Hopkins, House at St. Casimir, and the eight specially designated Respite Houses which are located in Maryland, Delaware and North Carolina are all dedicated to keeping families together during a child’s medical crisis, and that experiencing normal family life has a powerful influence on the healing process.
Runners and walkers, including families with strollers, will cover a 6K course through Baltimore City. Participants include families of critically ill children, and their supporters including volunteers, college students, high school groups, local business teams, and several Military groups who run on behalf of their fellow servicemen and women who have critically ill children in our programs. The race culminates in an awards ceremony for top runners and fundraisers, individuals and teams. Then it’s time for a post-race party including music, and donated items including food from Iron Rooster, Dunkin Donuts, Utz, Turkey Hill, and more. Our kids section includes, ice-cream, hula hooping, face painting to name a few.
Broadway recording artist, Julia Tucker will sign the National Anthem, and the Aisquith Sharpshooters will start the race. Special appearances by mascots from the Raven’s, Dunkin Donuts, and Sweet Frog.
Believe In Tomorrow, along with Home Depot–the title sponsor of the 6K, provides support, and attention to these families who are navigating through their child’s critical illness.
