Ocean City, MD – The Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation Block Party in Berlin, Maryland is reminiscent of an old fashioned festival. The Saturday night Block Party is a much-anticipated event, hosted by Believe In Tomorrow and “America’s Coolest Small Town,” Berlin, MD as a way to raise awareness for the Foundation’s Respite Housing Program.
Families come to Believe In Tomorrow during their child’s medical crisis when they are seeking an opportunity to leave their medical stresses behind and reconnect as a family. The Foundation offers seven beautiful respite locations at Ocean City, MD and Fenwick, DE. The unique program, enables families whose child has been diagnosed with a critical illness, such as cancer, to visit these respite properties to rejuvenate and put the anxiety of their medical realities aside.
The Block Party on Main Street will have it all: street performers, carriage rides, face painters, games, food and music will all be on hand. Raffles abound as well, including a 45-inch TV raffle. Guest bartenders will be at Sisters, with each shift competing against the next, to see who can raise the most money for the Believe In Tomorrow Respite Housing Program. Attendees can even register to run in the upcoming Believe In Tomorrow 5K in Bethany Beach, MD on September 30th.
As Brian Morrison, Founder and CEO of Believe In Tomorrow has said, “This family-friendly Block Party is made possible by generous support from the Town of Berlin and their local business owners. The way this charming community is banding together to help families who are facing extremely difficult medical diagnoses is heartwarming.”
Many local businesses are extending their hours during the event and donating a portion of their proceeds back to The Believe In Tomorrow Children’s Foundation. These businesses include: Fathom, Treasure Chest Jewelers, Heart of Gold Kids, Church Mouse Thrift Shop, On What Grounds, Maryland Wine Bar, Sisters, Fins Ale House and Raw Bar, Victorian Charm, Siculi Rustic Italian Kitchen, Patty Jeans Boutique, Island Creamery, Bruder Hill. Additionally, many other local vendors will be set up along Main Street, including: Paws n Claws, Sandals Bridal, LulaRoe, Atlantic Retreat. For children, Scales and Tails, Barhill Preserve, and Goatopia will all be on hand with their menagerie of animals. Rounding out this family event will be outdoor food and treats from local establishments.
Believe In Tomorrow continues to expand its pediatric respite programs. The Foundation recently broke ground on a new Respite House in McHenry, Maryland in the Deep Creek area. Currently, an additional Maryland property is in a planning phase for another facility in Ocean City, Maryland.
