The excitement of the 53rd Annual White Marlin Open extended beyond the weigh-ins this summer, bringing together tournament participants and local supporters to raise $15,225 for Believe In Tomorrow’s Beach Respite Program.

Through the tournament’s Charity Added Entry, participants contributed $14,625 to help critically ill children and their families enjoy time together at the beach. These respite stays offer families a chance to step away from the demands of medical treatment, reconnect, and make memories together.

At Sunset Grille, Geo and Olivia found a creative way to make a difference of their own. The children of restaurant owner and longtime Believe In Tomorrow supporter Buddy Trala handed out free good luck charms to White Marlin Open fishermen while collecting donations. Their efforts raised an additional $600, which they personally delivered to The Children’s House By The Sea.

Generosity clearly runs in the family. Throughout the year, Buddy donates restaurant gift certificates every single week, giving the families staying with us another opportunity to enjoy a meal together during their beach respite visits. His ongoing support is one of many ways the Sunset Grille family helps make these stays special.

We are grateful to the White Marlin Open, its participating anglers, and Buddy, Geo, Olivia, and the entire Sunset Grille family for helping bring moments of comfort, joy, and hope to the families we serve.
