The Children's House at Johns Hopkins Volunteer Opportunities
The Believe In Tomorrow Children’s House at Johns Hopkins Hospital sees the most foot traffic of any Believe In Tomorrow facility. With fifteen rooms for critically ill children being treated just across the street at Johns Hopkins Hospital, it also needs the most volunteers. Current Opportunities:
Family Suppers: Come prepare and enjoy a delicious meal with the families. This is a great opportunity for groups!
Piano Tuner: We love to hear the children and parents play the piano in the living room at The Children’s House. We’d love to hear it even more if it were in tune! If you are a piano tuner, or know a piano tuner who would like to donate their piano tuning services, The Children’s House ears would greatly appreciate it!
Front Desk Greeter: The Children’s House is looking for someone to work at the front desk, answering phones and helping to direct families.
General Handyman: Help keep our Children's House like new for families looking for a home-away-from-home. We need a general maintenance person to visit the house periodically and walk through to see what needs to be fixed.
Deep Cleaning and Laundry: Helping is as easy as doing everyday household tasks. The Children's House welcomes anyone willing to lend a hand by deep cleaning rooms and common areas or doing any extra laundry at the house.
Gardeners: In the Spring and Summer, the House becomes abloom with fragrant, colorful flowers in the backyard garden and front flower boxes. Got a green thumb? We need your gardening expertise!
2010 Wish List Drives are going on now!
We are looking for volunteers to organize and host wish list drives for all of our facilities. The wish lists are specific to each facility and include household items, food, toys, cleaning supplies, hygiene products and other things that families need while staying in the hospital and respite houses. This is a great opportunity for a school, community, or social group to help with!
