Something Amazing is Happening at Pinnacle Falls

Volunteers help put the finishing touches on the house

A mountain home, set in a gated community 35 miles removed from Asheville, N.C., will soon bring something powerful to children and families across the country.

The week of May 18, The Believe In Tomorrow Pinnacle Falls respite home and the possibilities it symbolizes brought over a dozen craftspeople – some driving from over 10 hours away – together in a week of inspiring volunteer work.

Jason Buechel of Natural Stone Veneers International, Inc. came with a full crew to set thousands of fieldstones and lay the work into the exterior, interior and chimney of the house.

Jennifer Taylor, involved in the Pinnacle Falls project since its beginning, drew a symbolic yellow star shape matching the Believe In Tomorrow logo. As a finishing touch the star was then cut out of stone and set into the home’s chimney.

Master painter Carl Dakes and a group of volunteers came from Baltimore for a marathon interior painting session, laying primer and coats of paint in the course of just a few days.

These craftspeople and others helped Pinnacle Falls take a giant leap forward toward opening this summer.

Pinnacle Falls Falling into Place

A new Believe In Tomorrow Respite Facility is on the brink of opening its doors in the mountains of North Carolina. Soon, Believe In Tomorrow families will be welcome to enjoy a spacious, quiet time of relaxation, with easy access to hiking trails, soothing waterfalls, and more importantly: each other.

Before we can unveil this respite home – more than two years in the making – we need your help in putting the finishing touches on a unique and inspiring home that will serve hundreds of families with critically ill children for generations to come.

Jason Buechel of Natural Stone Veneer International, Inc. The following are what we need to get this project completed for the summer season and make this house a home for all our believers:

The Believe In Tomorrow House at Pinnacle Falls, set to open in summer 2010, sits just beyond the gate of a secure community, just minutes from Flat Rock, ten miles from downtown Hendersonville, and 35 miles to Asheville. Pinnacle Falls offers its residents the privacy to stretch out and relax in a mountain community with the convenience of a thriving downtown. The Believe In Tomorrow House at Pinnacle Falls prioritizes military families.

Jason Buechel of Natural Stone Veneer International, Inc. will donate natural stone and stone application to complete finishing touches on the chimney and exterior of a 3,300 square-foot respite home.

The donation comes as part of a barn-raising effort to expand the only respite housing program in the country for critically ill pediatric patients. The developer behind the Pinnacle Falls community, Bill Amick, and head of the Baltimore/Annapolis Chapter of the Painters and Contractors of America, Carl Dakes, are also spearheading efforts to see the interior necessities of the house completed.

It’s an inspired effort to fulfill the need for respite when many are more worried about saving for the future rather than investing in a community.

Please check our web site regularly for details on Pinnacle Falls calls-to-action, the official grand opening, and respite availability.
