Helping Hands: A safe and clean environment is critical for our families’ health and a warm and home-like environment is good for their soul!  Our families are responsible for the day to day cleaning of their areas, but you can help keep this facility inviting and safe by assisting the housekeeping and operations staff with daily and special tasks including vacuuming, sweeping/mopping floors, straightening common areas, performing room-checks, refilling supply closets, washing curtains, shampooing carpets, and other tasks as needed!  Helping Hands also help us decorate the houses for different holidays!

Administrative Support: Behind-the-scenes support with the business end of operating our house is also very important in helping to provide the best care for our families.  Tasks would include filing, data entry, making phone calls, creating in-house flyers, mailings and other special projects.

Front Desk/Reception: Be the friendly face, the compassionate ear and a source of information for our families as they come and go.  Duties include check-in and check-out, providing information, making change, light office work,   signing out activity passes, games and movies and etc. - and just being there for our families during a trying time.

Van Driving: Help our families get where they need to go during their stay – sign up for shifts as a van driver!  Many  of our families come from far away places and do not have their own transportation to get to locations such as  grocery/drug stores, malls, the Inner Harbor and etc.  Also pick up donations and supplies for houses, events or special projects.

Gardeners: Garden keepers help provide a beautiful and serene exterior environment for our families – places for them to enjoy each others company or just to be still and think. Our green thumb volunteers will maintain all interior and  exterior plantings and sweep and/or hose down garden, patio and sidewalk areas.  They will also organize the decoration of the exteriors for various holidays!

Cookie Bakers: Make our house feel more like a home by baking cookies for our families and send fabulous smells  wafting through the house.
