We Believe — Believe In Tomorrow provides exceptional hospital and respite housing services to critically ill children and their families. We believe in keeping families together during a child’s medical crisis, and that the gentle cadence of normal family life has a powerful influence on the healing process. |

Featured Way to Donate - Restaurant Fundraiser
A great example of a restaurant fundraiser was put on by Gordon Spangler and Edward Sawicki at the Angle Inn in Canton, MD, which raised over $2000! Using a virtual donation technique, donors from as far as San Diego, CA, “participated” in the fundraiser by donating online and were recognized just as if they were really there! Incorporating virtual fundraising into your restaurant fundraiser allows not only local supporters to attend, but also friends and family all over the world! Contact your favorite local (or Irish!) restaurant or bar to find out how to start planning your restaurant fundraiser!
Maybe we’ve got a case of spring fever, but we’ve certainly hit the ground running with not one, but TWO great racing events this spring! 15th Annual Port to Fort 6k Run/Walk – Sunday, April 10th in Baltimore, MD
2nd Annual Beach Respite 5k Run/Walk – Saturday, May 7th in Fenwick Island, DE
Both events offer unique race courses, t-shirts, and a post-race party with music, food, and great awards! We hope you will join us!
Family story - The Muscari Family
Josh was born with achondroplasia, which is the most common form of dwarfism and is caused by a spontaneous genetic mutation while the baby is developing. The Muscari family has experienced their share of challenges that accompany having the first “little man” in the family, but Josh’s condition has also pulled them closer together.
Josh and his parents, Michelle and Frank, first stayed at the Believe In Tomorrow Children’s House at Johns Hopkins in December 2009. Expecting surgery for a shunt to relieve fluid on Josh’s brain, they instead learned he would need his legs lengthened. Hundreds of miles from home in Las Vegas, Michelle and Frank faced a tough situation in an unfamiliar city without friends or family nearby for support.
Volunteer of the Month - Margo Huffman
Margo began volunteering for Believe In Tomorrow just two years ago by selling handmade earrings and using the proceeds to purchase beach toys for the Believe In Tomorrow House by the Sea. She regularly spends time at the Believe In Tomorrow Children’s House at Johns Hopkins doing just about everything – cleaning, crafts and activities, jewelry making, pumpkin painting, cooking, and baking cookies for holidays. She also volunteered at the 28th Annual Benefit and Auction last November and recently hosted her first dinner for families at the Believe In Tomorrow Children’s House. With plans to become a pediatric oncologist, she loves simply playing and bonding with the children and putting a smile on their faces.
